Food Service Manager - Petoskey
Our Petoskey location is seeking a dynamic leader to fill the position of Food Service Manager for our high-volume Bakery/Deli. This is a full-time, year-round position, that requires a flexible schedule, including nights and weekends. The Bakery/Deli department is a food service department within a natural foods cooperative grocery store. The department produces daily bakery offerings, cold salads, sandwiches and wraps in a grab-and-go section, a soup and salad bar, and hot prepared breakfast, lunch, and dinner items in a buffet style service.

 The Bakery/Deli Food Service Manager is responsible for managing kitchen operations, inventory, labor, pricing integrity, and merchandising. This would include:

  • Training, supervising and directing staff
  • Upholding the expectation of exceptional customer service
  • Maintaining department and organization standards, policies and protocols
  • Quality control and safe food handling practices
  • Appropriate inventory levels and proper storage, labeling and rotation of products

The right candidate will make customer service and food integrity/safety their highest priorities, will take on responsibility and follow through on commitments, handle multiple demands, and have effective communication skills. Other qualifications include:

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • At least five years of cooking experience in a commercial kitchen
  • At least two years of experience managing/supervising a staff of 10-20 people
  • Current ServSafe Managers certification

Deli Prep Cook - Petoskey
Part-time prep cooks needed in our Bakery/Deli. The right candidate will have a positive attitude, good knife skills, and a desire to promote a fun and safe working environment. Duties may include preparing raw ingredients, assembly, packaging, cleaning, and heavy lifting. This position requires a flexible schedule, including nights and weekends, offering between 16 and 32 hours per week. {Updated 8/14/17}
