Co-op Kid Approved
Join us for our annual Spooky Kids Tastings.

We will have spooktacular treats set out around the store for the kids to try and vote on. Sure, we have organic candy to hand out as well but be brave and do stop by to try the eyes of newt!

  • Petoskey: October 27th, 10 am - 12 pm following the Downtown Halloween Parade.
  • Boyne City: October 31st, 5 pm - 7 pm following the Downtown Halloween Parade.
Co-op Kid Approved

Our Co-op Kids Approved program started out as a way to provide parents and children with a unique opportunity to sample, explore and stimulate their palates with great tasting, organic, healthy and wholesome foods with no artificial flavors, colors or preservatives. Throughout the years we have hosted Co-op Kids tastings for everyone to enjoy. We featured many products from the stores, as well as options for kids to create their own trail mixes, smoothies and more.

Each product we sampled was voted on by the kids and those that were overwhelmingly approved joined our special selection of Kid Approved products. These products are tagged throughout the store and represent tasty, organic and healthy foods that kids have proven they love.

Some Co-op Kid Approved Items Include:
• Annie’s Bunny Grahams
• Barbara’s Snackimals
• Grain Train Bakery Donald Fagen Bar
• Greek Gods Honey Yogurt
• Honest Kids Berry Lemonade
• Lifeway Blueberry Kefir
• Naturally Nutty Organic Pepita Butter
• Nature’s Path Gorilla Munch Cereal
• Organic Dried Mango
• Organic Turkish Apricots
• Nordic Natural’s Nordic Berries
• Terra Chips Sweets and Beets
• Tillamook Sharp Cheddar Cheese
Co-op Kids Today
Today, our Co-op Kids program has branched out into a new direction. While we do still hold occasional Co-op Kids Tastings throughout the year in the stores, the main focus of our program is taking the program out into the community. We have had the opportunity to take Co-op Kids into the classroom and to summer camps. We also have had the classroom come to us for a Co-opKids Tasting tour.
Depending on the setting, we can bring pre-made snacks for the kids to enjoy while we talk about healthy eating or, if space and time allow, we can bring ingredients for the kids to make their own healthy snacks. Some of the favorites have been smoothies, ants on a log and make-your-own trail mix.
If you think that Co-op Kids might be a good fit for your classroom, daycare, summer camp, etc. contact us to talk about options.
